The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), Los Angeles hosted Marina Abramovic's event where guests were greeted by unusual centerpieces at every table: live human heads. Performance artists sat beneath every table, their rotating heads poking up between the plates.
If you think that's strange... this was followed by two life-size nude statues of Debbie Harry and Marina Abramovic being brought out on stage. Harry was provided with a butcher knife and amidst raucous cheers, she dramatically raised it over her head and drove it straight into the heart of her nude likeness. Then, she removed the statues beating heart -- made of red velvet cake. Marina did the same to her own nude likeness at the same time. Their two "bodies" were then sliced and diced before being served to the star-studded audience as dessert.
