Wikileaks Vault 7 Press Conference
Julian Assange | March 9, 2017 | StackIcon
Speaking in a livestream WikiLeaks Press Conference on Vault 7, Year Zero and the CIA on Thursday, Julian Assange shared that the leaked information originated from an isolated computer, separated from others in the network, at CIA headquarters in Virginia. He described the loss of the information as an “historic act of devastating incompetence.”
Assange also stated that the published documents revealed software tools the CIA used to break into smartphones, computers, TVs, and more. He also revealed that WikiLeaks will give tech companies which suffered "billions of dollars of damage" when hacked by the CIA "exclusive access" to its technical expertise so that fixes can be pushed out.
Julian Assange spoke from London, where he has received political asylum in the Embassy of Ecuador since 2012. If you're interested in perusing the information for yourself, visit the links below.
